Clarence Eric Freburg
Clarence Eric Freburg, 79, of Rockford died at 7:14 a.m. Thursday, April 5, 2012 in his home. Born August 30, 1932, in Rockford, the son of Eric and Corinne (Tollin) Freburg. Served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, and subsequent years in the National Guard, where he was commissioned as an officer. Married Dyvone Guler, his high school sweetheart, May 2, 1954 in Rockford. He worked for IL Bell Telephone/Ameritech, retiring after 32 years of service. Clarence was a member of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, Vasa Order of America Lodge, and many business clubs. He enjoyed spending time with his family, cars, motorcycles, computer and email, reading, and playing golf. He had a special love for his dogs.
Survivors include his wife, Dyvone; children, Mark (JoAnn) of Beavercreek, Ohio, Karl (Debbie) of Fishers, Ind., Julie (Stephen) Boleyn and Nancy Baldacci, both of Crystal Lake; eight grandchildren, Eric Freburg, Jessica (Nathan) Gordon, Emily (Nicolas) Kuczera, Allison Fierros, Brent Freburg, Elyse Boleyn, Stephanie Fierros, and Alex Boleyn; one great-grandchild, Jacob Gordon.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 2715 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, Ill. 61109, with Rev. Janet Wold officiating. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Ltd., Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 2nd Ave. Memorials to COPD Foundation, 2937 SW 27th Ave., Suite 302, Miami, FL, 33133 or to Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church.
