Obituary

C. May Roberts Schelin died February 22, 2018 of complications from pneumonia. She was born on September 6, 1923 in Blue Creek, Utah, the daughter of Effie and Charles Roberts of Tremonton, Utah. May married Carl Schelin of Rockford, IL on November 24, 1945, at Lincoln Air Force Base, South Chapel in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was a 1941 graduate of Bear River High School in Tremonton, Utah. She was also a graduate of Swedish American Hospital School of Nursing in 1944. May worked there for many years as a registered nurse. She was also a member of Evans United Methodist Church and taught Sunday school. May was a member of Roscoe United Methodist Church. She was an avid golfer, and was a member of both Atwood and Macktown Women's golf leagues. She loved sewing, especially cross stitching, reading, and gardening.

Her husband of 69 years proceeded in her death on Dec.3, 2014. May is survived by two daughters Patricia Anderson of Blaine, MN and Christine (Gerald) Billeter of Macomb, IL; five grandchildren, Michael (Amy) Anderson of Poplar Grove, IL, Mark (Laura) Anderson of Minneapolis, MN, Diane Billeter of Macomb, IL, Jenny (Doug) Hughey of St. Louis, MO and Julie Billeter of Godfrey, IL, eight great grand children, Justin and Cameron (Mike) Anderson and Elaina May, Lucas, Halley, and Austin (Mark) Anderson, Laura Lynn and Megan Hughey (Jenny), one sister Jean Christensen of Salt Lake City, Utah and one brother Clarence (Paulette) Roberts of Brigham, Utah. She was predeceased by her parents, stepmother Elizabeth Roberts, two brothers William and Ray, and two sisters Anna Lola and Francis Miller.

Memorial services will be held in Roscoe United Methodist Church, 10816 Main Street, Roscoe, IL at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 2, 2018 with Rev. Bill Null officiating. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery, Rockford.
