Obituary

Barbara A. Laskey, 71, of Genoa, IL, died at 8:21 p.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2015 in her home. She graduated from Austin High School in Chicago, IL in 1963. Barbara was born on December 6, 1944 in Chicago, IL to Ernest and Lorraine (Nerenhausen) Baudler. She married Kenneth H. Mettler in 1965. She later married Leo Laskey in 1980 in Indiana. Leo preceded her in death in 2006. Barbara loved to draw. She also loved animals and the Home Shopping Network.
Barbara was survived by daughter, Janice Beckett of Crystal Lake, IL; son, Kenneth Mettler of Genoa, IL; four grandchildren, Amanda (Richard) Brodsky of Montgomery, IL, Meghan Beckett of Lake in the Hills, IL, Tyler and Madeline Mettler of Genoa, IL; her mother, Lorraine Pandola of Long Grove, IL; brother, Ernie Baudler of Jaffrey, NH; sister, Ellen Krevchena of Mundelein, IL; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Baudler in 1966; two husbands; and her sister-in-law, Marianne Baudler.
A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. in Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Cooper-Quiram Chapel, 202 E. Main Street, Genoa, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
