The lifeblood of my existence is wrapped in the love and safety of my family. Now that my sister Trudy and beloved Jack have joined together in heaven I rely on God's love and Grace to carry me and sister Cheryl through this heartbreak.

  2. Laura Jernigan

My condolences to the entire Goodin Clan. Theirs was a true love. May God bless you all.

  3. Lauren "Swede" Hillquist

Jack was probably my closest friend at IIT and was also in Barbara's and my wedding one week after graduation. And we kept in touch over the years as best we could - we moved a few times and never lived near Chicago. But he and Trudy had a wonderful lunch with us when we were back to Geneva (home town for us both) a few years ago that we will not forget. Jack and I continued to email after Trudy's passing and I was hoping he would come to visit us when we returned from our RV trip in latter Sept. Truly he was a class act. And now is with Trudy in Heaven. Am sure God welcomed them both. “God only knows; God makes His plan â€" that information is unavailable to the mortal man.” (Paul Simon)

There are no words to describe how much we love Jack and Trudy. We were blessed to have them as friends and neighbors for 20 years. When we moved to the neighborhood our boys were very young. They were so kind to our boys. They were never bothered by all the things boys do. Many times they came home to trampled flowers and too many kids running through their yard. He always told us, "it does not bother us. That's what yards are for". Our boys are grown now and to this day they both still call them Mr. Jack and Miss Trudy. Thank you God for allowing us to have them in our life. Our street will never be the same.

Jim, I am so very sorry to hear about Jack. I had just heard about Trudy, but was unable to get a hold of you. Now, so soon after Trudy, you lose your brother. After things settle down, please call me. Jack always stopped by Fred's office when he was in Rockford. He was so thoughtful to do that, and Fred loved seeing him. My deepest sympathy to you and your family. May God Bless and give you Comfort.

  6. John Mayerik

So sorry to hear about Jack's passing. He was a good fraternity brother. Only wish I could have seen more of him over the years.

  7. Bill Miller

So Sad! Jack and I were fraternity brothers at IIT. He was a very good friend and no one was a nicer and more fun person to be with. My sympathy goes to his family and friends.

  8. Barry (B.P.) Hill

The world was a better place for Jack having been here. B.P.

  9. George Frank

I first met Jack in September 1961, as I pledged Delta Tau Delta fraternity @ IIT. We were only together @ DTD for one year (age difference), but as time passed Jack & I became very good friends. Jack was an organized individual, with plenty of "class" ... as was his sweetie/wife Trudy. My wife and I will miss both Jack and Trudy. May God keep them both in the palm of his hands, and watch over them!!

  10. Daniel White

Time passes and it seems like yesterday we shared good times at DTD. Rest in peace. "Palmer" Class of 67

  11. Don Neal, FPE '61

So sorry to hear of brother Jack's passing. I know how hard it was for him to lose Trudy after 54 years of complete happiness. May they rest in peace together.

  12. John Lane

I reconnected with Jack and Trudy on the occasion of the 50th reunion of the IIT class of 1962. It was as if the 50 years that had elapsed since our time together at DTD had been but a few days. Over the intervening years from then to now we remained in contact often driving to Chicago for dinner. He was one of the finest people I have ever known and set a standard for living life to the fullest while remaining loyal to his wife of so many years. Rest well Jack and Trudy.

  13. George and Betty Bovis

Jack was the gentleman we all aspired to be. We, along with brother Archer and Chuck Hilliar were just making plans for an evening together when the news arrived. LosingJack and Trudy so close together is a true double whammie. Betty and I will miss them both but never forget them and the permanent place they still have in our lives and memories. Farewell good friend!

  14. Bill Anderson

Jack was a great friend and fraternity brother for 58 years. We shared lots of "life" from IIT/DTD to Northwestern GSB to living close to each other in Hoffman Estates/Schaumburg - Lou's pizza and beers, concerts, tennis, golf occasionally, BBQs, lots of laughs, occasional sorrow. Jack and Trudy were just might important in our lives. May they rest together in God's grace.

  15. Ray & Thelma Malecek

It was quite a shock to learn that Jack had passed away so soon after Trudy. We had enjoyed going out to dinner from time to time with Jack, Trudy, Bob & Elaine Delacluyse for several years. Bob and Trudy, we will miss you. God bless.

  16. Chuck & Terry Byvik

A super gentleman! Always a smile and good word. Jack and Trudy have left their mark and will always be remembered by us.

  17. Martin Jischke

Jack was a wonderful person and a great fraternity brother. The Delts of Gamma Beta will miss him and Trudy
